How are books priced?
Standard books: Hardcovers: $12 | Paperbacks: $10
Former library copies: Hardcovers: $9 | Paperbacks: $7.50
Books with minor imperfections will have a discount applied.
Where do Big Book Baby books come from?
Big Book Baby sources 95% of books from library bookstores and book sales; the remaining books are from thrift stores and other independent bookstores.
When do orders ship?
Orders are shipped within 2 business days of your order.
What do you mean you source books from public libraries?
Great question! Books donated to the library by community members and former library books that have been removed from circulation are often resold to the community by volunteer Friends of the Library organizations. Purchasing from these organizations supports the public library! In 2025, Big Book Baby supported over 35 Friends of the Library organizations across California – plus a few in New Mexico and Texas!
Why are library books removed from circulation?
Libraries only have so much space! New releases that require multiple copies today eventually don’t have the same high demand. Books are removed to make space for new books, and the cycle continues.
Why do you only sell queer, trans, and BIPOC authors?
Big Book Baby is tired of book spaces that center cis, straight white authors – from social media to publishing, award ceremonies, and the shelves of far too many bookstores. There are many benefits to seeing yourself represented in books, as there are to reading about people who have different life experiences!
